Working Out: I Hit the Jackpot!

For those of you who have been keeping up with me and reading my blog, you know that I am new to this whole fitness thing and have done a lot of research before I started dieting and exercising.

One thing that is becoming more and more clear to me is that in order to get a good workout and to push your limit, you must silence your mind. What I mean by that is, you can't get caught up on how many reps/sets you do. When I first started working out, I struggled with this and still did until a few days ago.

I recently stumbled upon a workout (on Pinterest of course) that said to try doing each exercise in terms of time instead of by counting reps and sets. When I first saw this workout, I thought, duh, why didn't I think of this before. So, the next day I tried it and it was a success.

Before, when I counted reps, I would automatically stop after 3 sets because I was ready to move on to the next exercise but I would never feel the burn and my soreness the next day was minimal so I knew I wasn't doing something right. With doing my exercises in terms of time, I feel the burn during and after working out as well as some sorness the next day.

I am so excited about stumbling upon this new technique of working out and can't wait to share the results with you. Below are two workouts that I put together and have done for 3 days now, alternating each day.

To make the workout harder, try doing the 3 min non-stop which will equal one set for each exercise.
